  1. @Abekrie I wouldn't say *everything* Disney pushed out so far has been a disappointment. I mean Rebels is only just starting. it's not like Clone Wars did any better in its first two seasons. Oh wait....
  2. The reason DC can do stories like Dark Knight Returns and Injustice is because superhero stories are being constantly rebooted and remade. They're like old myths in that there are countless adaptations, all unique in their own way. A Batman story made in 1995 will tend to take place in 1995, while one made in 2016 will take place in 2016. These characters NEED to be constantly rebooted in order to stay fresh and relevant. Star Wars on the other hand, has the ability to have one main continuous timeline, which I honestly prefer. DC characters die and come back countless times because if the character dies, then the comic can no longer continue. You could literally kill off every Star Wars character right now and start a new story a hundred years later with new characters. (That's probably not a good idea, but it would still work) So to answer your question, I think Disney should keep it as one canon universe and nothing more. Besides, they're already starting to reabsorb certain EU ideas back into their canon.
  3. @Jedimaster1423 I definitely recommend the Capital Down mappack. It's four maps with large-scale battles that revolve around different crashed capital ships. Especially with the Clone Wars half of the pack, there's some great room for strategic military coordination with your friends, pushing the crashed ship at different points and charging certain areas. Here's the link:
  4. Is this project still ongoing? I remember how hyped I was back when I was really active on the HQ. It would be a shame if this mod just faded away.
  5. ***Minor Spoilers for the show*** I'd also like to apologize in advance for the fairly lengthy read I've battled through the first 23 episodes of the show, and I'm just about ready to give up. The problem with Rebels is that they dumbed down the Empire way too much. The joke that Stormtroopers have terrible aim isn't a joke anymore; they acknowledge that fact and actually go along with it. On top of that, there's never any real sense of threat. Sure, we all knew that Anakin and Obi-wan would survive the Clone Wars show, but there were plenty of other characters who could have gotten killed off at any moment. On Rebels, however, there are only 6 main characters who we all know will never get killed off. All this could still be overlooked if the episodes had any substance to them, but the only two that I genuinely enjoyed were "Call to Action" and "Siege of Lothal". Although Clone Wars did have a lot of filler, the majority of the show was in some way related to the on-going war efforts. Rebels, however, is almost entirely just 6 hooligans running around shooting a few Stormtroopers going after fruits or whatever irrelevant quest they're on. For a show called Rebels, the characters don't seem to be doing an awful lot of rebelling. "Call to Action" was the first time it felt that the Ghost crew were actually standing up to the Empire as a whole, there's an intense duel between Kanan and the Inquisitor, and Tarkin even shows up to whip the local forces into shape. It's just a great episode overall, with a darker tone, better action, an intimidating villain (Tarkin), and (most important of all) consequences for the heroes. What gave me the most amount of hope was the ending of the episode "The Future of the Force" in which the two new inquisitors discover the hiding location of the current rebel fleet. I expected the next episode to start off with a large-scale battle, displaying the full might of the military machine that is the Empire, resulting in significant losses for the heroes, and the feeling that the Empire is a credible threat to the main characters. Instead, we got one minute of the rebel fleet taking off and flying through a group of Star Destroyers. The show just needs to be scrapped and remade from scratch; it's too childish, too simple, too predictable, and too boring. When I hear "Rebels" I picture rebel alliance soldiers mobilizing for an oncoming Imperial assault, Vader ruthlessly hunting down Jedi, and a much darker and more depressing tone than Clone Wars ever achieved. Instead, Rebels is just some Disney show about 6 idiots and their irrelevant shenanigans with Star Wars slapped onto it.
  6. ***Minor Spoiler for TFA***

Am I the only one who sort of lost all his hype for Rogue One after The Force Awakens had a third goddamn Death Star? I know it was called Starkiller Base, but they're literally the same concept.

i agree, that was just a lazy plot device for the climax. that is if that so called death star appears at all in the movie

    2. MJshakster

Yeah I feel like that was one area of the movie they could have improved on! I really like the concept of the First Order and the fact that it mirrors the original Star Wars, as well as taking roots from real history (the Nazis in Germany). I thought that was really clever but I was hoping for something different in terms of a structure. It seems the philosophy is build a more powerful superweapon every single time... why not change that up a little bit and introduce the world to a new Star Wars item/weapon/man made structure etc.??? Thoughts?

    3. Sk8rkid28

I agree that this movie was very similar to the previous, but feel like that this plot was necessary so that they can begin a new story-line and continue with the plot in future films. I just hope that all the future films won't be as similar.

  7. I've been on the hunt for this thing since the day they released the trailer.

John Williams will keep finding ways to outdo himself! He is the best! Not only in starwars! We need a John Williams and Lucas and Abrams emoticon. Plus force awakens.

      This sounds AWESOME! :)

  8. This barely seems like it's worth 15 dollars. Early DLC and an animation your character can perform? The game itself already costs $60, and consumers shouldn't have to pay an additional $50 just to get more game content. The Season Pass would have been fine if it included some ACTUAL content like new gamemodes, new star cards, or even just a Clone Wars expansion, but all we get is an emote and early DLC access.
  9. I was trying to find some soundtracks from the 2003 Clone Wars a few days ago, then lo and behold, I found THIS:

The audio in some parts is really poor, but the best pieces like the ARC Trooper theme and the Grievous fight on Hypori are in good condition.

  10. I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but I don't see what the big deal is with the first KOTOR. The story is great from what I've played, but that's really the only enjoyable element for me. The dialogue options aren't as branched out as I'd initially hoped and the combat isn't fun at all.
  11. Lack of content is, for the most part, the biggest complaint people have about SWBF. They cut out the Clone Wars era, which would have more than doubled the amount of content in the game.

  13. I guess this is how the release of TFA is gonna be for me:

I'm gonna wake up on December 15 and be like "The Force Awakens just released! I wonder what people think of it?" then switch on the computer. At that moment, my grandfather walks in with a Jedi robe and walking stick then says "If onto the internet you go, only pain and spoilers will you find."

  14. I'm about 5 seconds away from going all Liam Neeson on these spamming douchebags. "I don't know who you are, I don't know what you want. If you stop spamming the forums now, that'll be the end of it. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

    1. MaSaBa018

Goood.... let the hate flow through you...

But in all seriousness though, I agree, it's really irritating and childish.

      Anakin on Mustafar?

  15. Am I the only one who's geeking out about how DICE is actually using proper weapon names like "DLT-19" and "A280" instead of the original Battlefront's "Blaster Rifle" "Blaster Pistol" and other simple names?

      >Battlefront Extreme<

I think it was pretty much expected at this point, but it's nice to know that DICE isn't just throwing that into the bin. Sad part is that there's not so many weapons in there yet for the name variety to truly show.
